05. 02. Thursday
After the busy previous day I wanted to take it easy at home today, but then I decided to do some cleaning, changing and washing the sheets and such, so it turned out to be quite tiring in the end. Later in the afternoon I decided to go to Seika to finally check out the library and the manga magazines in the basement, and to get some wifi for my new tablet. First there was a problem, because I couldn’t get in with my library card, and it seemed I needed to register again, but I did that on spot.
Then I got to the magazines to see what they have, and despite having been called a small collection, it has the most popular magazines in all genres. They even have Itan, Be×Boy, Hanaoto, Rutile and Yurihime, all the latest issues and a lot of backnumbers, so yay~ :D This time my main purpose for coming was the previous Margaret issue, which had an extra for the anniversary of the mag with a new BeruBara short. Fortunately they had it, so I could read it too – it was a lovely short about Andre’s affection for Oscar, and it made me very nostalgic. Since then it turned out the oneshot will be reworked with an additional page and four color pages for the Margaret 2013/13 on June 5, and I’m really considering buying that issue – BeruBara is worth that 360 yen I guess ^^ I was reading some other things as well, like Hagio Moto’s new story, Away in Flower and flipped through the BL, and it’s very useful, so I will go there for reading the latest mags for sure.
Then I realized I forgot to bring the instructions for the wifi with me, so after reading I went to the IT department for the instructions, and then sat down at the cafeteria for the wifi – first outside, then inside as it was still quite cold. It was good to install all the stuff, not to mention it was my last chance, because starting the next day even Seika had Golden Week, and the shuttle buses weren’t running till next Tuesday. I also tried the Skype with home on the tablet, and while it was noisy, it’s a usable alternative when needed.
On the way home I made a round way to the Life supermarket to buy the brandy I was eying for a while now (and some ingredients for cooking of course). From all the alcoholic drinks I like cognac, Armagnac and brandy the best, and while I’m a light-weight when it comes to alcohol, sometimes I just need a good drink after a tiring day. Import alcoholic beverages are very expensive here, not to mention it’s all about whisky and wine, and there’s hardly any brandy, so I decided to try the more affordable local brandy by Suntory, and it’s not bad at all. When you take a sip, it’s a bit strange, but the aftertaste is very fresh and fruity – I can go with that while I’m here, I guess. That’s how my last day before the big Golden Week manga shopping spree ended, but I will come to those days the next time ^^
