It’s been a long time again. The days are just rushing by, and I feel like I still need to catch up on a lot of things, not just this diary. Actually we had Golden Week here over the last week, but in the end I hardly managed to pull myself together – and I blame manga for that ^^; Anyway, let’s see what happened after my last post. Once again I’m posting in several bits, as WordPress doesn’t like my long posts.
On Friday I decided to check out the recycle shop that was quite near to my home. Well, it was basically the only option as the others are way too far away. I walked down a few stations, but in the end the shop was small and didn’t really have the items I wanted – at least size-wise. I jumped on the train and went to the uni, but first I dropped by the 100 yen shop to get some washing nets – and some yummies. At the drug store below I also found softener, so I was ready to take on the task of washing again – as I had to re-wash the things that fell on the ground.
After my classes I went to the Gakusei Recycle shop I found yesterday to buy the small rice cooker they had. It was still there, but strangely the price went up: yesterday it was 1700 yen, but now 1900 o_O; Well, it’s still cheaper than a new one, so I bought it, but it was surely strange. They had some ovens too, but they weren’t really good, so I didn’t buy any – not that I could have carried a rice cooker and an over toaster at the same time XD;
In the evening I went shopping to cook up some food on the weekend, but I couldn’t really figure out what. And then I noticed it: the yellow zucchini! In couldn’t beleive my eyes, there’s such a thing as yellow zucchini! Sorry, if it’s basic knowledge to everyone, but in Hungary all zucchinis are green, so I was really surprised, but of course I had to buy it XD I decided to make an oven-free variation of my fave zucchini dish, and I was wondering how it would look like in yellow XD
On Saturday I re-washed the fallen clothes and then I decided to go to the shopping district, because others have recommended a store there, where I could find things for my room. At the same time I wanted to check out the Animate and the Toranoana in the area, as I missed to do that so far. Since I didn’t have anything to eat at home, I went to Matsuontoko, the veggie restaurant we have visited with the Dutch girl on the first night. At that time I was eating curry, but I wanted to taste their burgers. Actually I has been more than 20 years since I ate a hamburger – not that I was craving it or so, I was just curious, same with the fake meats they are using in the restaurants. I got a teriyaki burger and I was impressed with the sweetness of the teriyaki sauce and it made the soy meat in the crispy burger perfect. There were French fries and salad with non-milk-based cheese on it, and overall I was very satisfied. Sure, it’s not cheap, I paid 930 for the meal, but it’s a waste not to test these things.
With a full stomach I decided to look for the Animate and accidentally I found it immediately. Well, they are close, but it’s nearly impossible to locate stores in the arcades with a map. I was lucky with Matsuontoko too, because I totally didn’t remember where it was, just the approximate direction, still, I found it immediately XD Back to the Animate, well, it’s big, much bigger than the one at the Kyoto Station, and it’s full of people. I successfully withstood the urge to buy merch stuff, but I got a DJ and a manga I wanted to read for a while now. Unfortunately it’s forbidden to take photos in the store, so no pics from the inside. After that I went to the Toranoana store – it was easy to locate and all these stores are very close to eachother. The store is not that big, and although they have the latest releases, there were only a few DJs I would have bought, but unfortunately they were in the 1000+ price range and I wanted to save money for now. After a few rounds however I discovered small, hidden baskets, where you can search older releases for a cheap price. There were all kinds of genres and many Terra e… DJs as well, but all gag, so not my taste. In the end I found two gems – original DJs by prominent artists for 105 yen each and I’m weak to that XD;
After getting over the mania business I took a walk around the arcades to see more of the shops, directions and such. To my surprise I discovered a cinema in the middle of the district, which was good timing. I considered going to the movies next week, because yeah, anime on the big screen is not something I can have at home all the time, and the new Meitantei Conan movie just premiered. I also wanted to check things out before the premier of the new Shinkai Makoto anime next month, and the Conan movie was the perfect occasion. On the net I found the Toho Nijo cinema to be the best option, but it was still far from my home, so this sudden discovery saved my day~ Later at home I was checking out the situation of preordering tickets, but you can’t do that without a cell phone and a credit card, so I will have to buy on site.
After this I arrived to my destination, the Loft department store. They have all imaginable things there and even more important for me, they have a whole floor just for stationary! OMG! Actually I like stationary shops much more than shopping for clothes and shoes (which I hate), so I spent quite a long time there looking at all the pretties. I could have spent a whole lot of money there, and in the end I couldn’t resist a cute cash book (for booking my purchases) and a very pretty notebook – and I’m quite sure I will buy my calendar for next year here – they had all kinds of character goods there, and I was particularly taken with the Moomin calendars *__*
With that I arrived to the floor with the home stuff. I wanted to buy extra sheets, a big cushion for my back when I'm sitting on the bed (and I can't sit anywhere else), a blanket and many thick towels. Overall I found the things there very pricey, not to mention the sheet designs were just ugly (like most of them here, just totally not my taste). The towels and the blankets where all very thin, and just not worth the price. I was already prepared to leave empty-handed, when I discovered a big plush cushion what was just perfect in size and thickness, and it even kept it's form! It was actually the only one suitable for my needs so after contemplating a while I bought it and I'm still very happy with it ^__^
By the time I got out of the store it started to rain. I quickly got some crepe for dinner (it was full of whip cream so not that great for me unfortunately), and decided to go home, but not before checking out the Sanjo Book Off. The rain came suddenly, and the people weren’t prepared, so everybody was taking shelter in convenience stores, shops and such – and in the Book Off. I haven’t seen such a crowd in a Book Off before: people were standing next to eachother everywhere and they were all reading! It was impossible to even browse the shelves and pass though them, so I decided to leave for now, and rushed home to fetch my laundry. Btw the softener I got was a great choice: everything is very soft and smells great <3 I have to keep the name in mind for the future.
Sunday was uneventful as always. I was cooking lunch: potatoes and zucchini with tomatoes. The end result looked very fun with the yellow zucchini, but I would buy it again any time XD I was washing my hair and I realized I have tons of homework for Monday, so I spent the rest of the day trying to finish all my homework, which was a hopeless case ^^;
